12/23/2019
The contractor is installing surface asphalt today. After discussion with Dan Harper and Ryan Elam we have decided to let the contractors install the surface before the temperature is at 50degrees. The asphalt arrive at about 9:40 this morning and the temperature was approximately 43 degree's. I checked 2 trucks and the temperature was about 310 upon arrival and was being laid at about 285-290. I also came back again in the afternoon at 12:30 and checked several trucks coming in and everything appeared to be going well as the outside temperature was 56 degrees at 12:30. We also let the contractors know that we do not accept asphalt at below 50 degrees and that this is a one time thing and we will not do this on a public road and are only allowing it because it is private. I spoke with the asphalt company and they are going to warranty all the work being done as they think that 40 degree's is good enough for surface. The contractors are planning on working tomorrow as the temps are suppose to be in the 60's. I let them know this will be overtime pay because of the holiday and John Jackson will be working .
