Sheet 10 should be updated to show current signal design. The reference on Sheet 10 is inconsisent with Sheet 21.
Corrective Action Required
Summit Woods Xing Signal: Signal Heads on Pole 1 don't align properly with lanes. The drawing scales a 42' MA on Sheet 21, it's labeled 44' MA elsewhere (Sheet 21 & 22) and 44' MA in the Quantity Tables. Correct the head positions and MA dimension inconsistencies.
Corrective Action Required
Summit Woods Xing Signal: Pole 5 has a plan measured 50' MA on Sheet 21 (and the base shown as existing that should be new). On Sheet 22 and Quantities Table, the same pole has a noted 46' MA that plan dimensions at 35' MA. Correct the inconsistencies and formating.
Corrective Action Required
Interconnect Plans and all signal quantity tables have not been fully reviewed; only generally reviewed for obvious errors and constructability issues. Verify correct and consistent information that addresses current and prior comments, City standards and specifications. Plans and Quantity Tables may require revisions based on field corrections, material omissions and construction adjustments as required and approved by the City and Design Engineer that must be reflected on the as-built submittals.

Corrective Action Required
Station 504+80 and Station 506+60 Existing Street Light Relocations. The notes associated with this work indicate relocate street light and base, but also indicate pour new base. The light pole should be relocated to a new concrete base per standard details. The notes should include removal of existing base with flowable backfill and the placement of a new pull box at the junction of existing conduit and proposed conduit (old base). The notes should also include wiring/cabling, grounding, and splicing information (or reference where that information is provided elsewhere in the plans. The additional street light pull boxes, wiring/cabling, and splice enclosures/kits should be included in the tabulated quantities.
Corrective Action Required
The luminaire proposed on top of Pole 2 (SW Corner) of Summit Woods Xing intersection can be removed. The proposed pole is a relocated existing pole which does not have an existing luminaire. The street lights in the median on the south side of the intersection, in addition to lighting on Pole 1, Pole 5 and median on the north side, provide adequate intersection illuminance. Remove and revise wiring/quantities.
Corrective Action Required
The Summit Woods Xing intersection signal plans note Pole 2 with New Mast Arm, but the wiring diagram and quantities show relocated Existing Pole 2 with Existing Mast Arm (relocated/salvaged). Existing Pole 2 (SW Corner) is to be relocated with Existing Mast Arm (46') to the Proposed Pole 2 location where a 46' Mast Arm is shown on the plans.
Corrective Action Required
The Summit Woods Xing intersection signal plans show New Conduit from Proposed Pull Box 1 to Existing Signal Cabinet, but the wiring diagram shows Existing conduit (intercepted) from Proposed Pull Box 1 to Existing Signal Cabinet. Likewise, the conduit from Power Source and PUP to Pull Box 1 and Signal Cabinet is New on plan, but Existing on wiring diagram. It's likely New conduits are needed to and from Power Source, PUP, Pull Box 1 and Signal Cabinet. New conduits to Existing Signal Cabinet is not advised (constructability issues of placing new conduits in existing concrete pad) and disruption of existing operations. Plan for a new Concrete Pad for the Signal Cabinet with new conduits to/from Proposed Pull Box 1 and relocate the Existing Signal Cabinet (after the New system is wired and ready for relocation). This will also help facilitate existing operations as long as possible while the new signal is constructed and until Pole 2 and Signal Cabinet Relocations are ready.
Corrective Action Required
The Fiber Optic Signal Interconnect Plan is incomplete and unclear. The plan does not show proposed conduit, cable (FO/Pull String/Tracer Wire/Etc.), location of existing FO conduit/cable and intercepts/ties for continuity. How will this be constructed and connected?
Corrective Action Required
The Tables on the signal quantities for Summit Woods Xing intersection have not been updated, omit necessary information and/or don’t match the plans. For examples: Luminaires should be 400W (LED in Lieu of HPS) with 10' Bracket Arm and 40' Mounting Height on Pole 1 and Pole 5. Pole 1 and Pole 5 Head Spacing Added. Pole 1 Mast Arm Length Corrected.
Corrective Action Required
The luminaire on top of Pole 2 and Pole 4 of Lowenstien intersection can be removed. The street lights in the median along Pryor, in addition to lighting on Pole 1 and Pole 3 provide adequate intersection illuminance. Remove and revise wiring/quantities.
Corrective Action Required
The Tables on the signal quantities for Lowenstien intersection incorrectly identify the mast arm length for Pole 1 and the wrong base for Pole 1. Revise the 400W HPS to LED.
Corrective Action Required
The Summit Woods Xing intersection signal plans note Pole 5 with New Mast Arm, but the quantities show a relocated Existing Pole for Pole 5. The relocated pole has an existing mast arm of 35', without an existing luminaire and cannot be used for a proposed new 46' mast arm with luminaire. A NEW Pole 5 is needed to pair with the NEW Mast Arm and luminaire.

Corrective Action Required
Per previous comment (2); remove the Right Lane Must Turn Right Signs (R3-7) that are proposed NB and SB Pryor Road at Summit Woods Xing. These are "pocketed" turn lanes and the sign is not used in these situations per City. These signs and the Left Lane Must Turn Left Signs that were removed from the plans in latest revision remain in the quantity tables and should be removed.
Corrective Action Required
Per previous comment (9); the plans must include detail related to street light reclocation including conduit, pull boxes and cable, construction notes, etc. The plans were revised to note pole and base relocation, but omitted the construction of necessary conduit, cable, pull boxes, etc. to reconnect the system and included quantities.
Corrective Action Required
Per previous comment (3); the existing lane use signs (2) should be removed and noted as removal on the Demo Plans or Signal Plans. The removals could not be found on the plans.
Corrective Action Required
The signal pole symbol was removed (or not shown) for Pole 5 at the intersection of Summit Woods Xing and Pryor Road. This symbol representing the pole and its dimension should be added to the plans.
Corrective Action Required
Signal Head 51 on Pole 4 at the intersection of Lowenstien and Pryor Road should be centered on the approaching left turn lane. The relocation of this signal head may reduce the mast arm length (if so, modify the table of quantities and other plan sheet accordingly).
Corrective Action Required
The conduit/cable/wiring system for the traffic signal at Summit Woods Xing and Pryor Road seems in conflict between existing infrastructure, proposed, plans and wiring diagrams. Existing Pull Box 1 and Existing FO Box on the northwest corner of the propsoed intersection cannot be located in the proposed curb or within the proposed roadway (right-turn lane). The survey shows these in conflict with the proposed improvements, but the plans note "To Remain" (for use in place). The signal plans do not show how new Pull Box 1 connects to the existing conduits between existing controller cabinet and existing pull boxes. The wiring plans show new Pull Box 1 intercepting existing conduits, but there are no existing conduits in the area of proposed Pull Box 1. How will this system be connected to the existing cabinet (no new conduits can be added to existing cabinet unless a new pad is constructed and existing cabinet relocated)? The existing and proposed signal system should be independent as much as possible (or capacity available in re-used existing conduits for existing and proposed cables/wires concurrently until service is transitioned and old cables/wires removed) so as to minimize downtown in transition. Please review survey information as the existing controller cabinet at this location appears to be misidentified as the PUP power supply cabinet (visa-versa) which would require relocation of the signal cabinet on a new foundation pad. A field review shows the PUP west of the signal cabinet, but the plans show the cabinet west of the PUP. The PUP power supply cabinet (which is likely the existing signal cabinet) is shown on the plans "To Remain", but is in conflict with the proposed roadway improvements and must be relocated. The power source to the PUP Unit (a utility pole nearby) will also be relocated by the utility and the relocated power source must be shown on the plans for reference.
Corrective Action Required
Existing pole base, pull box, and conduits that will not be used along the west side of Pryor Road at Summit Woods Xing shall be removed (e.g. pole and pull box along with conduits in the southwest corner of the intersection and extending to existing pull box 1). Notes should be included on the plans to identify all removals, timing of removal (after operational transition to new signal system) and scope of restoration.
Corrective Action Required
Coordinate the roadway improvement plans with the interconnect plans. The existing FO pull boxes (7, 8, 9) are in conflict with the proposed roadway improvements. The existing conduit will likely be impacted depending on depth within the proposed right-turn lanes, the existing FO pull boxes are not traffic rated and FO pull boxes should not be in traffic where maintenance is disruptive and less safe.
Corrective Action Required
The improvement plans for Lowenstien Drive include a right-turn lane along Pryor Road at Lowenstien Drive. Those improvements impact the existing street light system (e.g. pull box and lighting cabinet/controller, location of power supply). The street light relocation plans must also include the relocation plans and details for the cabinet, pull box, power supply location and other street light system components in conflict with the proposed improvements.

Corrective Action Required
Mast Arms that exceed 54' require structural engineering plans. Recommend alternate pole locations that result in mast arms less than 54' long. Two, possibly three locations of this proposed condition exist at the intersection of Lowenstien/Pryor Road (Poles #2, #3 and possibly #4). For example, can Pole #3 be moved to the NE corner of proposed ADA ramp with a pedestal pole for the crosswalk then located at the SE corner of the same ADA ramp to shorten the mast arm to approx. 46'? Likewise, can Pole #2 be moved to the NE corner of proposed ADA ramp with a pedestal pole then located at the SE corner of the same ADA ramp to shorten the mast arm to approx. 48''.
Corrective Action Required
The proposed Right Lane Must Turn Right and Left Lane Must Turn Left signs along Pryor Road should be removed. Since these turn lanes are "pocketed", these signs are not used per City.
Corrective Action Required
Existing Lane Use Signs (2) located along the private drive within Summit Woods across from Lowenstien Drive, approaching Pryor Road should be removed (conflicting the proposed lane use).
Corrective Action Required
Add "Right Turn Yield to U Turn" signs on Poles #1 and #5 at Summit Woods Xing/Pryor Intersection. The U-Turn movements on Pryor Road should have the right-of-way. The east and westbound right-turns onto Pryor Road should yield. There won't likely be U-turns east-west; so the signs are not needed on Poles #2 and #4 which would be in conflict with the overlap protected right turns.
Corrective Action Required
The quantity tables need to be updated, specifically the signal quantities to include mast arm dimensions, head locations, etc. for reference on shop drawings reviews.
Corrective Action Required
Project Specific Note #1 on the signal plans should indicate Contractor furnished, not City supplied, materials for traffic signal installation including controller, cabinet, signal poles, mast arms, etc. All components, equipment, hardware and software required for installation of the traffic signal shall be supplied by Contractor.
Corrective Action Required
The R10-12 sign(s) should be positioned to the left of the 5-Section signal head. Adjust Mast Arms as needed.
Corrective Action Required
Remove the protected westbound right-turn movement (change head K to head A) on Pole #1 at Lowenstien/Pryor signal. The protected movement conflicts with Pryor Road U turns and shared through/right lane movement. Add a right-turn yield to u turn sign on Pole #1. No such sign is necessary on Pole #3 at this time since U-turns northbound on Pryor Road at Lowenstien are not likely (no access between Lowenstien and Chipman along Pryor. Revise quantities, phasing, etc. accordingly.
Corrective Action Required
Provide a plan for the street light relocation that includes construction notes and information related to pull box(s), conduit placement, wiring, base installation, etc. and summary of quantities. A new base will be required and removal of existing base. Re-use of existing light pole is okay. This information may be shown on a separate plan sheet, or added to the signal plans, roadway improvement plan sheet, or other sheet already in the plans.
Corrective Action Required
Fiber Optic cable, tracer wire, and conduit should be included in a summary of quantities table; may be added to either table of quantities associated with the signals.

Corrective Action Required
A 3rd right-turn arrow is needed in the southbound right-turn lane for the proposed right-in/right-out since the arrow spacing exceeds 80'.
Corrective Action Required
The existing right-turn arrows on the westbound approach to Summit Woods Xing should be removed and consider a lane use sign for the 2 westbound left-turn lanes and shared thru/right lane. This change is necessary due to the permitted thru movement and lane alignment associated with the eastbound approach.
Corrective Action Required
Signal Plans at Summit Woods Xing:
1. Remove Existing Pole 5 (pedestal pole and base) in the SE corner and install pedestrian push buttons and pedestrian heads with countdown timer (relocation of good equipment on existing pole may be acceptable) onto proposed Pole 3. Extension arms up to 12" may be needed for the push buttons depending on pole location and proximity to sidewalk/ramp. Add notes for restoration and removal of or fill existing conduit no longer used to PB5 (plug conduit hole in PB 5).
2. Revise the lane configuration and associated signal design plans (e.g. phasing, wiring, heads, etc.) to maintain 2 westbound left-turn lanes and 2 eastbound left-turn lanes. The existing right-turn lane will be shared thru/right. All dual left-turn lanes should have protected left-turn phasing.
3. How will the conduit be installed from proposed PB1 to Existing Pole 2 through existing concrete pole base? Should this conduit be routed to Existing PB 3 instead and use existing conduit to Pole 2?
4. Verify adequate space in existing conduits for new cables.
5. Update schedule of quantities, verify equipment needs and note equipment specifications. The detection system shall match existing InSync Adaptive System (or upgrade as necessary per manufacturer recommendations), including all modifications and improvements to detection system processor, cards, etc. and compatible cables.
6. Include necessary Opticom for Pryor Road, not necessary for private drive approaches.
7. What is the 14' conduit extending north from PB1?
8. Are 2 4" conduits required between PB1 and Pole 1?
9. Add construction sequencing notes...Existing intersection to remain fully operational and new signal constructed, wired and ready for switch prior to demolition/removal of existing so as to minimize traffic disruptions. Coordinate notes with the removal sheet and the general notes sheet.
Corrective Action Required
Signal Plans at Lowenstien:
1. Can the signal operate with concurrent east/west phasing? Split phasing is not desired. Update the phasing and sequence diagrams.
2. Update schedule of quantities, verify equipment needs and note equipment specifications. The detection system shall be InSync Adaptive System with detection system processor, cards, etc. and compatible cables. (partially described in the fiber plan note and general notes sheet)
3. Include necessary Opticom for Pryor Road and Lowenstien, not necessary for private drive approaches.
Corrective Action Required
