Make a site visit due to concerns that the contractor was working out of the boundaries of the property being developed. Checked with Diana Johnson and she was confident they were were not out of the boundaries of their permit. Erosion control devices are in place as they are using silt fence and mulch berms throughout the site. Contractor said police has been out to talk to them due to a complaint about where they are working. After going over the plans they seem to be working where they are allowed to according to the permit that has been issued.

11/5/2021 Contractor raised existing manholes MH 1-3, MH 1-4, MH 1-5, MH 1-6 and MH 1-7. On Monday 12/6/2021 Contractor, Redford Construction cored existing MH 1-4 to begin installing sanitary pipe(8-inch SDR 26 PVC sewer pipe) On Tuesday 12/07/2021 Contractor, Redford Consruction installed 171 LF of 8-inch SDR 26 sanitary pipe and MH 1-1 On 12.08.2021 Wednesday Contractor installed MH 1-2 was installed and 224 LF of sanitary pipe. On 12.09.2021 Thursday Contractor installed 11 laterals and MH 1-3 On 12.10.2021 Friday Contractor is backfilling the sanitary lines 2 and 3 On Monday 12.13.2021 Contractor installed 3 service laterals on Line 1 between MH 1-3 and MH 1-4. Construction began on Line 2 sanitary sewer. 12.16.2021 Thursday Contractor, Redford Construction installed MH 2-1 and three laterals. On Wednesday, 12-22-2021. Redford resumes sewer laterals for line 2. Redford installed laterals north and south of the main sewer from MH 1-3, 2-1 and 2-3. Contractor Redford wets project site to keep down the dust down and back fills some of the laterals on the main.

On Monday, 12-20-2021. Redford Excavating resumed Sanitary Sewer installation. Contractor layer approx 80 LF of 8” Sewer pipe and placed (1) lateral for lot 112. Contractor hit rock and it has slowed installation of sewer. On Tuesday, 12-21-2021. Contractor resumed Sanitary Installation for line 2. Approx 100 LF of 8” pipe was placed and (3) laterals where installed as well. Contractor is watering down fill materials to back fill with. On Thursday, 12-23-2021. Redford Excavation resumed Sanitary Sewer back filling for laterals previously placed. Contractor watered down Shell back fill for proper moisture compaction. Contractor also reinstalled (1) Man Hole riser and lid that had been disturbed.

On Monday, 1-3-2022. Redford Excavating resumed Sanitary Sewer installation. I, Tom Taylor was off on Christmas Holiday’s from 12-24-2021 to Monday the 12-28-2021. On Tuesday I was not in due to what I thought was a chest cold. On Wednesday, 12-29- 2021. I returned to work . The contractor worked to install Line 4. The contractor installed MH 4-1 and approx 120 LF of 8” PVC pipe. In Late afternoon I was asked to not return to work for the next day until I could show a negative Covid test result. On Thursday I received a COVID test and was found to have contracted the virus. The contractor completed line #4 while I was out including all laterals and back filled. On Wednesday, 1-05-2021, I returned with a negative test result. The contractor Redford had began installation of line #1. Contractor connected to the existing MH #1-7 and installed 171 LF of 8” pvc pipe. Contractor also installed MH 1 - 1 and approx 120 LF of 8” pvc sewer pipe.

On 1-17-2022 Monday Redford installed storm boxes CI 1-2, CI 1-3, CI 1-4, CI 1-6, CI 1-7, and CI 1-8. No inverts were poured. On 1-18-2022 Tuesday Storm boxes CI 1-2, CI 1-3, CI 1-4, CI 1-6, CI 1-7, and CI 1-8 concrete collars were poured. Storm boxes CI 5-1, CI 5-2, FI 2-3, FI 2-1, and CI 2-2 were installed On 1-19-2022. Wednesday CI 1-3, CI 4-1, CI 4-2 and CI 6-1 were installed. Field inlets 6-2 and 6-3 were installed but contractor did not pour collars or inverts. On 1-20-2022 Thursday Pipe collars were poured. Inverts were poured for field inlets and storm boxes CI 2-6, FI 6-3, CI 6-1, CI 2-5, and FI 6-2. On 1-21-2022 Friday Redford worked 1/2 day. Backfilled installed pipelines 1.24.2022 Monday Installed with pipe collars and inverts for Lines 1 and 3 1.25.2022 Tuesday installed CI 3-1, CI 4-2, CI 4-1, and FI 2-3 1-26-2022 Wednesday Backfilled storm lines 2, 4, 5 1.27.28 Thursday Backfilled storm lines 6. 1.28.2022 Contractor did not work. 1-31-2022 Monday Poured for 3 pipe collars and 3 storm box inverts. On 2.1.2022 Backfilled all open excavations in anticipation of snow storm this week. On Wednesday 2.2.2022 a big snow storm hit and the contractor, Redford told me they would not return until Monday 2.7.2022. On Monday 2.7.2022 Redford construction resumed working. Boxes for Line 8 were delivered. CI 8-2 and CI 8-3 were installed. CI 6-1 was set but no invert or pipe collar was poured. On Tuesday 2.8.2022 Storm boxes CI 8-3, CI 8-4, and CI 9-2 were installed and collars and inverts were poured. On 2.9.2022 Wednesday Storm boxes CI 8-2, CI 8-3, CI 8-4, and CI 8-5 are installed. Concrete Pipe collars and inverts are done. Line 7 is complete only CI 7-1 on that line. Storm boxes CI 9-2 and CI 9-3 installed. Contractor is waiting to receive FI 9-4. On 2.10.2022 Thursday FI 9-4 was set. Inverts were poured for CI 4-1, CI 4-2. Storm box tops were set for all curb inlets and field inlets Line 1 thru 9. Grading was done in various locations throughout the project site. On 2.11.2022 Randy Spalding graded in various locations throughout the project site. On 2.14.2022 Redford Construction installed CI 10-2, CI 10-3, and FI 10-4. Pipe collars and inverts were poured for CI 10-3 and FI 10-4. On 2.15.2022 Redford Construction set CI 11-1 and CI 11-2 and pipe collars poured. On Wednesday 2.16.2022 Storm Line #12 installed CI 12-1 invert and pipe collar poured. (Last storm line). Backfilling and setting storm box tops. On 2.25.2022 Added a stack piece to storm box 6-1 to bring it to grade. On 3.14.2022 Monday Contractor installed 150 LF of storm pipe 8-2 to End Section 8-1.

Contractor began installing waterline #4 but encountered rock and switched to installing fire hydrants on installed lines On 3.2.2022 contractor installed approximately 500 LF of Water Line 2 On 3.3.2022 contractor dug out rock and installed installed water line #2 and poured thrust block on line #6. Thrust blocks were poured for Lines #1,2, one quarter of line #4, Line 5, and Line #6. Line #3 and three-fourths of Line #4 remain undone. On 3.4.2022. Contractor Backfilled waterlines #1,2,5,and 6 and graded the project site. John M. Jackson On 3.8.2022 Contractor continued work on water line # 4 installation.Contractor was breaking through rock, so progress is slow. Contractor was able to use acceptable backfill to cover water line. Conditions are extremely muddy onsite. On Wednesday March 9, 2022 Water line #1 tie-in to existing waterline Plat #1. Extremely muddy conditions. On 3.14.2022 Water line #3 was installed and 80 ft of Line #1 installed. Remaining water line #4 was completed. Concrete thrust blocks have not been installed yet. On Monday 4.18.2022 Use a 20.54 ton tandem truck Spalding and I completed a sub-grade proof roll for the placement of rock subgrade and it passed city standards. On Monday 4.25.2022 Randy Spalding used a 20.77 ton tandem truck to conduct a Curb proof roll which failed. Redford was onsite adjusting the curb boxes because of the rock placement for pavement. On Tuesday 4.26.2022 Spalding used a tandem truck to conduct a curb proof roll which passed with the exception of two soft areas which the contractor agreed to use the roller for more compression.

    • Avoid inappropriate language in filenames.
  • Submitted documents will be stamped at the conclusion of the review.
    • The stamp will be placed in the upper right hand corner of the document. It is recommeded that this area, to the extent possible, be left blank so that no information is lost when the the stamp is applied.
