Where a fire wall also separates occupancies that are required to be separated by a fire barrier wall, the most restrictive requirements of each separation shall apply. Action required: Provide complete UL details for rated assemblies that include screw/nail patterns and penetrations. 2/21/22 - full detail still required. inspector will need to know nail/screw patterns, etc. Inspectors do not have access to UL manuals in the field. 10/25/22 - Clarifications required. There are 2 different walls shown on A001 but only 1 UL detail provided. Also, the only rated wall found on plans is a CMU wall while both rated wall details are stud construction.

Contractor didn’t contact the inspector for inspection on storm utility. Inspector has established contact and given contractor contact information. Guidelines For Electronically Submitting Documents:

  • Submitted documents should be under 100MB in size.
  • Accepted file extensions:
    • pdf, jpg, xls, doc, xlsx, docx, dwg
  • All plans shall be to scale.
  • Recommended naming conventions:
    • Keep filename consistent.
    • Avoid the use of non-friendly filenames. (ex. k9dk38fj3.pdf)
    • Avoid inappropriate language in filenames.
  • Submitted documents will be stamped at the conclusion of the review.
    • The stamp will be placed in the upper right hand corner of the document. It is recommeded that this area, to the extent possible, be left blank so that no information is lost when the the stamp is applied.
