Matt Munger 09/28/2017 2:44 PM Informed the contractor that I had setup a test shutdown of the water main that they will be connecting to. Spoke with Evan Dolan from Water and he stated they would have someone out 9/28 or 9/29 to do the test shutdown. Contractor informed me that he would like to shutdown the line on 10/2/17 to tie-in. I informed Evan Dolan of the time that his guys will be needed to perform the shutdown.

I notified Keith that we would not be able to do the shutdown on 10/2/17. I also informed Keith that once we know that we can do the shutdown that they need to notify the customers that will be out of service 24 hours prior to the shutdown.

As I was checking the parts that were present I made sure to inform Kevin that the Hydrant needed to the correct color for a private line (yellow with a silver bonnet) as well as making sure the Hydrant was on the approved parts list. The brand was correct but the model was not. I wrote down the info Kevin needed to make sure he gets the correct Hydrant.

Matt Munger 10/20/2017 4:03 PM I observed the workers black bag the hydrants that were going to be out of service. Prior to the installation the workers swabbed the fittings and inside of the pipes with bleach. They also used the 3M Rubberized Spray on the bolts on the fittins as well as wrap the fittings and valve. Water Utilities workers controlled the valves and performed the flush. They got a chlorine reading of 1.95 after the flush.

Pressure had dropped below 200psi (160psi) so the Contractor tightend some bolts on the valves in the BFP vault and started the test over again. Fire Line held 200 psi for 2 hours. Will be back to chlorinate line 11/13/17 at 9:30 am. Steve Robinson will cover me during that time.

I Informed Keith that Blue Valley Labs would have to come in on saturday if we take samples Thursday and Friday and that Blue Valley will charge them $100.00 for having to come in on a Saturday to pull samples. I contacted Blue Valley Labs to see if they could have an employee come in Saturday to pull samples. The lady on phone took my info down and told me they would have the lady that would possibly be in call me Tuesday afternoon.

I observed geogrid in areas that are to be paved on the north and east side and a minimum of 6" of compacted base material over the geogrid. Workers were removing spoils from the site.

I had some concerns with the base material appearing to have sunken in by the southwest curb inlet. Talked to Dustin Walters and he stated it shouldn't be an issue since they are going to pour the throat for the curb inlet where I had noticed the low spot. Observed there orange safety fence had fallen down around the hole on the north side of Jones Industrial. Erosion control needs to be worked on for this site particuarly the west side of the site.

I have also spoken with and e-mailed Doug Rothfuss about the erosion control and also spoke to Scott Fischer. The contractors formed the sidewalk in front of the building goning along Independence. The formed the 5 ft sidewalk and compacted the rock, they stopped about 15-20ft before they got to the corner for the ADA ramp. Bob Burns came out to help with the construction talk on the ADA ramp. The erosion control has still not been taken care of. I spoke with Khanh about this and he said he will tell them no more inspections until the erosion is taken care of. I have also spoken with and e-mailed Doug Rothfuss about the erosion control and also spoke to Scott Fischer. Doug let me know in the e-mail that there is not a problem with erosion right now and he will get to it when he can because it is frozen.
