Brice Lawson 08/25/2016 3:20 PM Bob Burns and myself met with Casey Williams and KR Excavating to go over the initial site grading and erosion control for the site. KR excavating plans to add silt fence below the area where they will construct the detention basin. This silt fence is going in place of the berm shown on the plans because of a concern that the berm will hold water on the site making it too wet to work. KR excavating is planning on constructing the detention basin to the final elevation from the start with the exception of leaving the low side at 1016 to allow the basin to drain. KR excavating plans to construct the south swale according the finish grade plans as well as the west swale. These swales are being constructed this way to eliminate the need of constructing them twice. There are 4 DI pipes that drain into a sediment trap with 1 pipe draining the trap near the south east part of the site. These pipes are not shown on the plans. Casey Williams has requested a "request for information" from HDR to find out what the pipes are for and what to do with them. CI 10A was butted up next to the existing CI 8479 and the joint between the two has been partially grouted. Four rebar pins were drilled into the base of the existing CI and poured in the invert of CI 10A. Gene Williams and I discussed this connection to the existing CI today.

Straddle blocks were poured at each end where the water main was removed. 4-45 degree fittings were installed with thrust blocks on each fitting. The T fitting and valve with a thrust block was installed for the 8" water main. 2 - 45 degree fittings were installed with thrust blocks on this 8" main. The 8" water main was connected to the rest of the 8" water main that was previously installed. Tracer wire was installed on the 12" water main and the 8" water main. The Water Dept. flushed this 12" main on 1/12/17 for about an hour and put the water main back in service.

Brice Lawson 01/19/2017 4:57 PM She Digs It installed the 42" HDPE pipe accross Hamblen Rd. The pipe was bedded with 3/4" clean rock and was covered with 3/4" clean rock. The rock was vibrated in with a vibratory plate. Flow fill will not be used on the trench due to the elevation of the top of the HDPE pipe. The concrete patch is going to be poured a little thicker at 14".

Brice Lawson 01/22/2017 8:50 AM On 1/20/17 She Digs It installed the KCHEE60 KCMMB high early concrete mix in the street cut located where storm line 50 crosses Hamblen Rd. The street cut is an area that is approx. 8' by 38' by 14" in depth. The concrete pour started around 9:00 a.m. The surface was sprayed with curing compound and covered with blankets. Steel plates were placed on the concrete later that night to allow traffic to drive over the patch. The surface temps. of the concrete surface on 1/20/16 were 61 degrees at 10:45 a.m., 67 degrees at 3:00 p.m.
