UDO Sec 9.060 prohibits new pole signs. A pole sign is defined as a freestanding sign that is mounted on a pole, tube, or other fabricated member without any architectural covering of the support structure. You will need to propose a permitted sign type. The closest approvable sign type to what you have proposed would be a monument sign. Monument signs are defined as a freestanding sign in which the entire bottom of the sign is in contact with the ground, or which is mounted on a solid base at least two-thirds of the width of the sign face, providing a solid and continuous background for the sign face from the ground to the top of the sign. Monument signs are limited in size to a 72 sq. ft. for the sign face area with 96 sq. ft. for the overall structure area and a height of 12 feet.
