: Star Excavation has contracted with Austin Powder since 2018 when high-explosives use was approved. At certain times Austin Powder may execute a blast within the permitted quarry area which is close enough to Quarry Park Road, that Austin Powder would recommend to temporarily prevent any road traffic as an extra safety measure during the shot. The monthly frequency and times of the shots vary based on many factors. It is rare to shoot more than 1 day per week. There can be anywhere from 1-3 shots on a given day as determined by Austin Powder, typically it is 1 shot in a day. Austin Powder and Star Excavation staff follow the adopted Blasting Protocols as attached in a separate document. In a separate document we will show the proposed points of temporary road closure and the process.

Effective July 1, 2025, a Parks Impact Fee on new development will go into effect.
