All issues pertaining to life safety and property protection from the hazards of fire, explosion or dangerous conditions in new and existing buildings, structures and premises, and to the safety to fire fighters and emergency responders during emergency operations, shall be in accordance with the 2018 International Fire Code.
Quatities of certain chemicals are limited in S and M occupancies.
5003.11 Group M storage and display and Group S storage.The aggregate quantity of nonflammable solid and nonflammable or noncombustible liquid hazardous materials stored and displayed within a single control area of a Group M occupancy, or an outdoor control area, or stored in a single control area of a Group S occupancy, is allowed to exceed the maximum allowable quantity per control area indicated
in Section 5003.1 where in accordance with Sections
5003.11.1 through 5003.11.3.11.
5003.11.1 Maximum allowable quantity per control
area in Group M or S occupancies. The aggregate
amount of nonflammable solid and nonflammable or noncombustible liquid hazardous materials stored and displayed within a single control area of a Group M
occupancy or stored in a single control area of a Group S occupancy shall not exceed the amounts set forth in Table 5003.11.1.
5001.5.2 Hazardous Materials Inventory Statement
(HMIS). Where required by the fire code official, an
application for a permit shall include an HMIS, such as
Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986 (SARA) Title III, Tier II Report or other approved statement.
The HMIS shall include the following information:
1. Product name.
2. Component.
3. Chemical Abstract Service (CAS) number.
4. Location where stored or used.
5. Container size.
6. Hazard classification.
7. Amount in storage.
8. Amount in use-closed systems.
9. Amount in use-open systems.
Provide a haz-mat inventory statement.

IFC 506.1 - Where access to or within a structure or an area is restricted because of secured openings or where immediate access is necessary for life-saving or fire-fighting purposes, the fire code official is authorized to require a key box to be installed in an approved location. The key box shall be of an approved type listed in accordance with UL 1037, and shall contain keys to gain necessary access as required by the fire code official. 506.1.1 Locks. An approved lock shall be installed on gates or similar barriers when required by the fire code official.
Provide a Knox padlock on the gate.
