2018 IFC 901.5- Installation acceptance testing. 2018 IFC 901.6- Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. Not required fire protection systems and equipment shall be inspected, tested and maintained or removed. (Informational Purposes) Current annual inspection tag needed on riser.

2018 IBC 1606.2 Design dead load. For purposes of design, the actual weights of materials of construction and fixed service equipment shall be used. In the absence of definite information, values used shall be subject to the approval of the building official. Action required: Provide verification that either the weight of new roof top equipment is less than or equal to original equipment or provide engineer’s report to verify that existing roof structure will support additional load. (architectural drawings show rooftop units as existing but the mechanical drawings show new units so replacements were assumed) 4/7/20 - deferred per architect request. IBC 1209.2 Urinal partitions - privacy

2018 IBC 1209.3.2 Urinal partitions. Each urinal utilized by the public or employees shall occupy a separate area with walls or partitions to provide privacy. The walls or partitions shall begin at a height not more than 12 inches from and extend not less than 60 inches above the finished floor surface. The walls or partitions shall extend from the wall surface at each side of the urinal not less than 18 inches or to a point not less than 6 inches beyond the outermost front lip of the urinal measures from the finished back wall surface, whichever is greater. Exceptions: 1. Urinal partitions shall not be required in a single-occupant or family or assisted-use toilet room with a lockable door. 2. Toilet rooms located in child day care facilities containing two or more urinals shall be permitted to have one urinal without partitions. Action required: Modify design to show that urinal partition will be compliant.

ICC A117.1 Section 303 Changes in Level 303.1 General. Changes in level in floor surfaces hall comply with Section 303. Action required: Provide detail or spec to demonstrate compliance at transition from rubber mat to adjacent flooring.

Posting of occupant load

2018 IFC 1004.3- Posting of occupant load. Every room or space that is an assembly occupancy shall have the occupant load of the room or space posted in a conspicuous place, near the main exit or exit access doorway from the room or space. Posted signs shall be of an approved legible permanent design and shall be maintained by the owner or authorized agent. (Verified At Inspection) Post occupant load signage at 55 for the entire space.

2018 IFC 907.1.1- Construction documents. Construction documents for fire alarm systems shall be submitted for review and approval prior to system installation. Construction documents shall include, but not be limited to, all of the following: 1. .A floor plan which indicates the use of all rooms. 2. Locations of alarm-initiating and notification appliances. 3. Alarm control and trouble signaling equipment. 4. Annunciation. 5. Power connection. 6. Battery calculations. 7. Conductor type and sizes. 8. Voltage drop calculations. 9. Manufacturers, model numbers and listing information for equipment, devices and materials. 10. Details of ceiling height and construction. 11. The interface of fire safety control functions. (Action Required) Any modifications to the fire alarm system, provide three sets of PE stamped shop drawings.

2018 IFC 907.3.1 Duct smoke detectors. Smoke detectors installed in ducts shall be listed for the air velocity, temperature and humidity present in the duct. Duct smoke detectors shall be connected to the building's fire alarm control unit when a fire alarm system is rquired by Section 907.2. Activation of a duct smoke detector shall initiate a visible and audible supervisory signal at a constantly attended location and shall perform the intended fire safety function in accordance with theis code and the International Mechanical Code. Duct smoke detectors shall not be used as a substitute for required open area detection. (Action Required) Duct detection to be tied to the fire alarm system.
