ADDRESS CLARIFICATION. Please clarify/confirm the correct address for the tenant space. The application was submitted with an address of 840 NW Blue Pkwy. However, staff previously held meetings regarding this restaurant and was at that time considering the former Beauty Brands tenant space at 860 NW Blue Pkwy, Unit A. The sign regulations governing the shopping center had different allowances based on the orientation of the facades (facing internal to the shopping center v. facing out and visible from the surrounding public rights-of-way); the shopping center does not follow the City's standard sign ordinance. Confirmation of the correct tenant space will determine how the governing sign regulatinos are applies to the tenant space.

ALLOWABLE SIGN SIZE. 1) If the correct address for the subject tenant space is actually 860 NW Blue Pkwy, Unit A, then the east facade faces out toward NW Blue Pkwy and is allowed a maximum sign size no greater than 10% of the east tenant space facade. The proposed 97.1 sq. ft. size falls within the allowable sign size limit. 2) If the correct address for the subject tenant space is actually 860 NW Blue Pkwy, Unit A, then the south facade faces interior to the shopping center and is allowed a maximum sign size no greater than 1 sq. ft. of wall sign for every 1 lineal foot of tenant space facade width. The south tenant space facade is listed as having a width of 81'-10", therefore a maximum of 81.8 sq. ft. of wall sign size is allowed on the south tenant space facade. The proposed 97.1 sq. ft. wall sign exceeds the allowable standard and therefore shall be reduced in size accordingly.

APPLICATION SUBMITTAL. FYI--all proposed signs for a particular site are now processed and reviewed under a single sign permit application submittal. I've voided the second sign permit submittal since the subject permit submittal contained all the information for both signs and can be processed together under the single application.
