2012 IBC 703.2 Fire-resistance ratings. The fire-resistance rating of building elements, components or assemblies shall be determined in accordance with the test procedures set forth in ASTM E 119 or UL 263 or in accordance with Section 703.3. Where materials, systems or devices that have not been tested as part of a fire-resistance-rated assembly are incorporated into the building element, component or assembly, sufficient data shall be made available to the building official to show that the required fire-resistance rating is not reduced. Materials and methods of construction used to protect joints and penetrations in fire resistance-rated building elements, components or assemblies shall not reduce the required fire-resistance rating. ICC A117.1-2009 Section 1004.11.1 Grab Bar and Shower Seat Reinforcement. Reinforcement shall be provided for the future installation of grab bars and shower seats at water closets, bathtubs, and shower compartments. Where walls are located to permit the installation of grab bars and seats complying with Section 604.5 at water closets; grab bars complying with Section 607.4 at bathtubs; and for grab bars and shower seats complying with Sections, 608.3, 608.2.1.3, 608.2.2.3 and 608.2.3.2 at shower compartments; reinforcement shall be provided for the future installation of grab bars and seats complying with those requirements. 2012 IBC 1809.5 Frost protection. Except where otherwise protected from frost, foundations and other permanent supports of buildings and structures shall be protected from frost by one or more of the following methods: 1. Extending below the frost line of the locality; 2. Constructing in accordance with ASCE 32; or 3. Erecting on solid rock. (see code section for exceptions) Shallow foundations shall not bear on frozen soil unless such frozen condition is of a permanent character. Details of ceiling height and construction. 11. The interface of fire safety control functions. Construction documents for fire protection systems shall be submitted for review and approval prior to system installation. ACTION REQUIRED:(information purposes) Have the fire sprinkler system contractor provide shop drawings for approval of any modifications to be done to the fire sprinkler system.

Fire detection and alarm systems, fire-extinguishing systems, fire hydrant systems, fire standpipe systems, fire pump systems, private fire service mains and all other fire protection systems and appurtenances thereto shall be subject to acceptance tests as contained in the installation standards and as approved by the fire code official. The fire code official shall be notified before any required acceptance testing. The fire code official shall be notified 48 hours before any required acceptance test. ACTION REQUIRED:(information purposes) If any fire alarm system devices are added, moved, relocated or replaced in the residences or corridors during the renovation process an ecceptance test will be required prior to the final occupancy inspection. Not required fire protection systems and equipment shall be inspected, tested and maintained or removed. ACTION REQUIRED:(veriifed at inspection) The existing fire sprinkler system shall be current with all required service and maintenance. A current service tag shall be posted on the systems riser.
