2006 IFC 907.1.1- Construction documents. Construction documents for fire alarm systems shall be submitted for review and approval prior to system installation. Construction documents shall include, but not be limited to, all of the following: 1. .A floor plan which indicates the use of all rooms. 2. Installation acceptance testing

2006 IFC 901.5- Installation acceptance testing. Fire detection and alarm systems, fire-extinguishing systems, fire hydrant systems, fire standpipe systems, fire pump systems, private fire service mains and all other fire protection systems and appurtenances thereto shall be subject to acceptance tests as contained in the installation standards and as approved by the fire code official. The fire code official shall be notified before any required acceptance testing. The fire code official shall be notified 48 hours before any required acceptance test. Action required: Call (816) 969-1300 to schedule a test. Testing shall be completed before the regular business hours of the other building tenants.

2006 IFC 901.6- Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. Not required fire protection systems and equipment shall be inspected, tested and maintained or removed. Action required: The existing sprinkler system shall have documentation of a current annual inspection. Verified at inspection.

These numbers shall contrast with their background. In Multi-tenant commercial building where tenants have multiple entrances located on different sides of the building , each door shall be addressed. Address numbers shall be Arabic numerals or alphabet letters. Numbers shall be a minimum of 4 inches (102 mm) high with a minimum stroke width of 0.5 inch (12.7 mm). Verified at inspection.

Portable fire extinguishers - general

2006 IFC 906.2 - General requirements. Portable fire extinguishers shall be selected, installed and maintained in accordance with this section and NFPA 10. l. Action required: Mount dressing room fire extinguisher on the the sales area side of the wall. Verified at inspection.

Plumb - Required public toilet facilities

2006 IPC 403.4 - Required public toilet facilities. Customers, patrons and visitors shall be provided with public toilet facilities in structures and tenant spaces intended for public utilization. The accessible route to public facilities shall not pass through kitchens, storage rooms, closets or similar spaces. Employees shall be provided with toilet facilities in all occupancies. Employee toilet facilities shall be either separate or combined employee and public toilet facilities. Action required - This comment is for information purposes.

2006 IPC 403.2 - Separate facilities. Where plumbing fixtures are required, separate facilities shall be provided for each sex. (See code for possible exceptions.) Action required - Signage will be verified on inspection.

Bldg - Means of egress illumination - Emergency power

2006 IBC 1006.3 - Illumination emergency power. The power supply for means of egress illumination shall normally be provided by the premises electrical supply. In the event of power supply failure, an emergency electrical system shall automatically illuminate the following areas. 1. Aisles and unenclosed egress stairways in rooms and spaces that require two or more means of egress. 2. Corridors, exit enclosures and exit passageways in building required to have two or more exits. 3. Exterior egress components at other than the level of exit discharge until exit discharge is accomplished for buildings required to have two or more exits. 4. Interior exit discharge elements, as permitted in Section 1024.1, in buildings required to have two or more exits. 5. Exterior landings, as required by Section 1008.1.5, for exit discharge doorways in building required to have two or more exits. The emergency power system shall provide power for a duration of not less than 90 minutes and shall consist of storage batteries, unit equipment or an on-site generator. The installation of the emergency power system shall be in accordance with Section 2702. Action required - I don't believe the required exterior lighting was installed at the time of shell construction. Provide additional information.

Bldg - Accessibility - Point of sale and service counters 1109.12.3

2006 IBC 1109.12.3 - Point of sale and service counters. Where counters are provided for sales or distribution of goods or services, at least one of each type provided shall be accessible. Where such counters are dispersed throughout the building or facility, accessible counters shall also be dispersed. Action required - Verify that a section of the POS meets this requirement.

The bottom chord braces at the rtu(s) shall be welded once the units have been installed. This will need to be verified by the city inspection staff. Action required - This comment is for information purposes.

When this shell building was a section of the roof was designed to carry mechanical units up to 2000 lbs. This area is between lines N2 and N3. RTU 2 is located within the area and meets but RTU 1 is not. Action required - Make needed corrections.
