Emergency alarm signal device shall be installed outside of each interior exit door of storage buildings , rooms or areas. Activation of emergency alarm-initiating device shall sound a local alarm to alert occupants of an emergency situation involving hazardous materials.

When emergency alarm, detection or automatic fire-extinguishing systems are required in Sections 80.302 through 80.315, such systems shall be supervised by an approved central, proprietary or remote station service or shall initiate an audible an visual signal at a constantly attended on-site location.

General Note- The plans do not address ventilation of the chamber if conditions in the chamber exceed LEL. There is constant ventilation of the room, but in order to ventilate the chamber someone would have to enter into an explosive atmosphere. A method of ventilation should be provided that does not involve placing someone into a hazardous area The exhaust fan to the room does not have an indication it is rated for flammable enviroments.

Fire Department- Portable fire extiguishers shall be installed in occupancies and locations as set forth in the Uniform Fire Code Standards and as required by the Chief. Extinguishers shall be mounted in a conspicuous place with travel distance between any point in the building and extinguisher not to exceed 75 feet. Fire Department- Exit doors shall be operable from the inside without the use of a key or any special knowledge. Exit doors shall not be locked, chained, barred, latched or otherwise rendered unusable. All locking devices shall be of an approved type. (UFC Section 12.106.(c))
