Codes Administration- When corridor walls are required to be one hour fire-resistive construction by Section 3305.(g), every interior door opening shall be protected by a tight-fitting smoke and draft control assembly having a fire-protective rating of not less than 20 minutes when tested in accordance with UBC Standard No. 43-2. Said doors shall not have louvers. The door and frame shall bear an approved label or other identification showing the rating thereof the name of the manufacturer and the identification of the service conducting the inspection of materials and workmanship at the factory during fabrication and assembly. Doors shall be maintained self-closing or shall be automatic closing by actuation of a smoke detector in accordance with Section 4306.(b). Smoke and draft control door assemblies shall be provided with a gasket installed so as to provide a seal where the door meets the stop on both sides and across the top. (UBC Section3305.(h))

Glass shall meet the requirements of Chapter 54 of the 1991 Uniform Building Code when installed in locations considered specificly hazardous per Section 5406.(d). This is regarding the interior glass located in the corridor.

Fire Department- Exit doors shall be operable from the inside without the use of a key or any special knowledge. Exit doors shall not be locked, chained, barred, latched or otherwise rendered unusable. All locking devices shall be of an approved type. (UFC Section 12.106.(c))

Extension cords and multi-plug extension cords shall not be affixed to structures; extened through walls, ceilings, floors, under doors or floor coverings; or be subject to environmental or physical damage.
