Smoking and open flames shall be prohibited in the areas used for dispensing fuel. The motors of vehicles being fueled shall be stopped. Conspicuous signs prohibiting smoking, dispensing into unapproved containers, and requiring vehilce motors to be stopped during fueling operations shall be posted within sight of each customer being served. A clearly labeled, manually operated pump master switch (emergency shutoff switch) shall be provided in an approved location within 75 feet of, but not less than 15 feet to, any dispenser. A sign labeled EMERGENCY SHUTOFF SWITCH shall be provided in a location approved by the fire department denoting the location of the switch. (UFC 79.903 g)

Fire Department- Exit doors shall be operable from the inside without the use of a key or any special knowledge. Exit doors shall not be locked, chained, barred, latched or otherwise rendered unusable. All locking devices shall be of an approved type. (UFC Section 12.106.(c))
