Fire Department- 2006 IFC 510.1- Identification. Fire protection equipment shall be identified in an approved manner. Rooms containing controls for air-conditioning systems, sprinkler risers and valves, or other fire detection, suppression or control elements shall be identified for the use of the fire department. Approved signs required to identify fire protection equipment and equipment location, shall be constructed of durable materials, permanently installed and readily visible.

Bldg - Occupancy classification - General
Codes Administration - 2006 IBC 302.1 - General. Structures or portions of structures shall be classified with respect to occupancy in one or more of the groups listed below. A room or space that is intended to be occupied at different times for different purposes shall comply with all of the requirements that are applicable to each of the purposes for which the room or space will be occupied. Structures with multiple occupancies or uses shall comply with Section 508. Where a structure is proposed for a purpose that is not specifically provided for in this code, such structure shall be classified in the group that the occupancy most nearly resembles, according to the fire safety and relative hazard involved. (See 2006 IBC for list of possible occupancy types and descriptions.) Action required - Normally this would be classified as an A-2 occupancy due to the consumption of food but exceptio 1 of Section 303.1 allows the space to be classified as a be as the calculated occupant load is less than 50. The plans indicate an occupancy type of M which is retail sales. Make needed corrections.

Codes Administration - 2006 IMC 403.2 - Outdoor air required. The minimum ventilation of outdoor air shall be determined in accordance with Section 403.3. Exception: Where the registered design professional demonstrates that an engineered ventilation system design will prevent the maximum concentration of contaminants from exceeding the obtainable by the rate of outdoor air ventilation determined in accordance with Section 403.3, the minimum required rate of outdoor air shall be reduced in accordance with such engineered system design. Action required - The outdoor air calcs provided are based on a retail establishment but they should be based on the use of the space which is food and beverage service. Make needed corrections.

Codes Administration - 2006 IBC 1004.1.1 - Areas without fixed seating. The number of occupants shall be computed at the rate of one occupant per unit of area as prescribed in Table 1004.1.1. For areas with out fixed seating, the occupant load shall not be less than that number determined by dividing the floor area under consideration by the occupant per unit of area factor assigned to the occupancy as set forth in Table 1004.1.1. Where an intended use is not listed in Table 1004.1.1, the building official shall establish a use based on a listed use that most nearly resembles the intended use. Action required - The occupant load calculations for the public area are based on a merchantile use. They need to be based on movable tables and chairs and fixed bench. New and existing buildings shall have approved address numbers, building numbers or approved building identification placed in a position that is plainly legible and visible from the street or road fronting the property. In Multi-tenant commercial building where tenants have multiple entrances located on different sides of the building , each door shall be addressed.
