Fire Department- 2006 IFC 505.1- Address numbers. New and existing buildings shall have approved address numbers, building numbers or approved building identification placed in a position that is plainly legible and visible from the street or road fronting the property. These numbers shall contrast with their background. In Multi-tenat commercial building where tenants have multiple entrances located on different sides of the building , each door shall be addressed. Address numbers shall be Arabic numerals or alphabet letters. Numbers shall be a minimum of 4 inches (102 mm) high with a minimum stroke width of 0.5 inch (12.7 mm).

CA - No merchandise, stock, interior furnishings or supplies shall be placed in this facility without approval from the City of Lee's Summit.

CA - A License Tax application completed by the contractor must be submitted to the City of Lee's Summit, Codes Administration Department, and any applicable License Tax paid prior to issuing a building permit.

CA - The occupancy and or final inspection shall be scheduled with the Codes Administration Department and requires a minimum of two (2) working days notice. Codes Administration will contact the appropriate city departments and will notify the applicant of the date and time the inspection will be performed.

This shall include but is not limited to building layout, facilities provided, building materials and equipment, finishes used, landscaping and site improvements. CA - LSCO 7-134 - Every permit issued shall become invalid unless the work on the site authorized by such permit is commenced within 180 days after its issuance, or if the work authorized on the site by such permit is suspended or abandoned for a period of 180 days after the time the work is commenced. Permits for exterior work, i.e., walls, fences, decks, patios, patio covers and similar type work requiring permits, as well as permits for residential room additions and remodels shall be limited to 180 days duration. Permits for other new construction shall be limited to one-year duration. The building official official is authorized to grant, in writing, one or more extensions of time, for periods not more than 180 days each.

The building official shall set a time period during which the temporary certificate of occupancy is valid.

Lee's Summit Code of Ordinance - Sec.17-309 - Smoking. A. "No Smoking" signs or the international "No Smoking" symbol (consisting of a pictorial representation of a burning cigarette enclosed in a red circle with a red bar across it) shall be clearly and conspicicuously posted at every public place and place of emplyment where smoking is prohibited by this Article, by the owner, operator, manager, or other person in control of that place. B. Every public place and place of employment where smoking is prohibited by this Article shall have posted at every entrance a conspicuous sign clearly stating that smoking is prohibited.

CA - LSCO 7-162 - It shall be the duty of the holder of the permit or their duly authorized agent to notify the building official when work is ready for inspection. It shall be the duty of the permit holder to provide access to and means for inspection of such work for any inspections that are required by this code. Inspection requests shall be made in advance and in accordance with the most current written policies of the Codes Administration Department.

CA - The disposal of demolition waste is regulated by the Department of Natural Resources under Chapter 260 RSMO. Such waste, in types and quantities established by the department, shall be taken to a demolition landfill or a sanitary landfill for disposal.

Automotive motor fuel-dispensing facilities, marine motor fuel-dispensing facilities, fleet vehicle motor fuel-dispensing facilities and repair garages shall be in accordance with this chapter and the International Building Code, International Fuel Gas Code and the International Mechanical Code. Such operations shall include both operations that are accessible to the public and private operations.

Fire Department- 2006 IFC 2204.2.1 Special-type dispensers. Approved special-dispensing devices and systems such as, but not limited to, card- or coin-operated and remote-preset types, are allowed at motor fuel-dispensing facilities provided there is at least one qualified attendant on duty while the facility is open to the public. Remote preset-type devices shall be set in the “off” position while not in use so that the dispenser cannot be activated without the knowledge of the attendant.

Fire Department- 2006 IFC 2203.2 Emergency disconnect switches. An approved, clearly identified and readily accessible emergency disconnect switch shall be provided at an approved location, to stop the transfer of fuel to the fuel dispensers in the event of a fuel spill or other emergency. An emergency disconnect switch for exterior fuel dispensers shall be located within 100 feet (30 480 mm) of, but not less than 20 feet (6096 mm) from, the fuel dispensers. For interior fuel-dispensing operations, the emergency disconnect switch shall be installed at an approved location. Such devices shall be distinctly labeled as: EMERGENCY FUEL SHUTOFF. Signs shall be provided in approved locations.
