Codes Administration - 2003 IBC 1011.1 - Where required. Exits and exit access doors shall be marked by an approved exit sign readily visible from any direction of egress travel. Access to exits shall be marked by readily visible exit signs in cases where the exit or the path of egress travel is not immediately visible to the occupants. Exit sign placement shall be such that no point in an exit access corridor is more than 100 feet or the listed viewing distance for the sign, whichever is less, from the nearest visible exit sign.

Codes Administration - 2003 IBC 1014.1 - Exit or exit access doorways required. Two exits or exit access doorways from any space shall be provided where one of the following conditions exists:
1. The occupant load of the space exceeds the value in Table 1014.1.
2. The common path of egress travel exceeds the limitations of Section 1013.3.
3. Where required by Sections 1014.3, 1014.4 and 1014.5.

Fire Department- IFC 1016.3 Dead ends. Where more than one exit or exit access doorway is required, the exit access shall be arranged such that there are no dead ends in corridors more than 20 feet (6096 mm) in length.
Exceptions:
1. In occupancies in Group I-3 of Occupancy Condition
2, 3 or 4 (see Section 202, definition of Occupancy
Group I-3), the dead end in a corridor shall not exceed
50 feet (15 240 mm).
2. In occupancies in Groups B and F where the building
is equipped throughout with an automatic sprinkler
system in accordance with Section 903.3.1.1, the
length of dead-end corridors shall not exceed 50 feet
(15 240 mm).
3. A dead-end corridor shall not be limited in length
where the length of the dead-end corridor is less than
2.5 times the least width of the dead-end corridor.

Correction
Fire Department: Fire detection and alarm systems, fire-extinguishing systems, fire hydrant systems, fire standpipe systems, fire pump systems, private fire service main and all other fire protection systems and appurteances thereto shall be subject to acceptance tests as contained in the installation standards and as approved by the code official. The code official shall be notified before any required acceptance
testing. NOTE: Acceptance testing shall be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance by calling (816) 969-1300.

Codes Administration - It is our understanding that this space is to be used as a daycare facility outside of church services. If this is true than the provisions allowing classrooms and assembly areas to be considered part of the A-3 do not apply. This is indicated in the provisions for I-4 daycare facilities found in Section 308.5.

Fire Department; The required fire-resistance rating of fire-resistance-rated construction (including walls, fire stops, shaft enclosures, partitions and floors) shall be maintained. Such elements shall be properly repaired, restored or replaced when damaged, altered, breached or penetrated. Openings made therein for the passage of pipes, electrical conduit, wires, ducts, air transfer openings, and holes made for any reason shall be protected with approved methods capable of resisting the passage of smoke and fire. Openings through fire-resistance rated assemblies shall be protected by self-closing or automatic-
closing doors of approved construction meeting the fire protection requirements for the assembly.

Fire Department. Construction documents for fire protection systems shall be submitted for review and approval prior to system installation. The plans and specifications shall bear a State of Missouri licensed engineers seal. This includes fire sprinkler systems, grease hood and duct suppression systems as well as other fire suppression system.

Required fire protection systems shall be extended, altered, or augmented as necessary to maintain and continue pro-tection whenever the building is altered, remodeled or added to.

CA - LSCO 7-134 - Every permit issued shall become invalid unless the work on the site authorized by such permit is commenced within 180 days after its issuance, or if the work authorized on the site by such permit is suspended or abandoned for a period of 180 days after the time the work is commenced. Permits for exterior work, i.e., walls, fences, decks, patios, patio covers and similar type work requiring permits, as well as permits for residential room additions and remodels shall be limited to 180 days duration. Permits for other new construction shall be limited to one-year duration. The building official official is authorized to grant, in writing, one or more extensions of time, for periods not more than 180 days each.

CA - LSCO 7-162 - It shall be the duty of the holder of the permit or their duly authorized agent to notify the building official when work is ready for inspection. It shall be the duty of the permit holder to provide access to and means for inspection of such work for any inspections that are required by this code. Inspection requests shall be made in advance and in accordance with the most current written policies of the Codes Administration Department.

CA - LSCO7-168 - The building official is authorized to issue a temporary certificate of occupancy before the completion of the entire work covered by the permit, provided that such portion or portions shall be occupied safely. The building official shall set a time period during which the temporary certificate of occupancy is valid.

Codes Administration - 2003 IMC 403.3 - Ventilation rate. Ventilation systems shall be designed to have the capacity to supply the minimum outdoor airflow rate determined in accordance with Table 403.3 based on the occupancy of the space and occupant load or other parameter as stated therein. The occupant load utilized for design of the ventilation system shall not be less than the number determined fron the estimated maximum occupant load rate indicated in Table 403.3. Ventilation rates for occupancies not represented in Table 403.3 shall be determined by an approved engineering analysis. The ventilation system shall b designed to supply the required rate of ventilation air continuously during the period the building is occupied, except as otherwise stated in other provisions of the code.

Codes Administration - 2003 IPC 403.1 - Minimum number of fixtures. Plumbing fixtures shall be provided for the type of occupancy and in the minimum number shown in Table 403.1. Types of occupancies not shown in Tale 403.1 shall be considered individually by the code official. The number of occupants shall be deetermined by the International Building Code. Occupancy classification shall be determined in accordance with the International Building Code.
