Fire Department: Medical Gas Storage Room (114). A 1-hour exterior room shall be a room or enclosure separated from the remainder of the building by not less than 1-hour-rated fire-resistance rated construction. Openings between the room or enclosure and interior spaces shall be self-closing smoke and draft-control assemblies having a fire protection rating of not less than 1-hour. Rooms shall have at least one exterior wall which is provided with at least two vents. Each vent shall not be less than 36 square inches in area. One vent shall be within 6 inches of the floor and one shall be within 6 inches of the ceiling. Rooms shall be provided with at least one automatic sprinkler to provide container cooling in case of fire. IFC 3006.2.1

CA - 2000 IBC 407.3 - Corridor walls. Corridor walls shall form a barrier to limit the transfer of smoke. The walls shall extend from the floor to the underside of the floor or roof deck above or to the underside of the ceiling above where the ceiling membrane is constructed to limit the transfer of smoke. Corridor walls shall be constructed of materials consistent with the building type of construction and form a barrier to limit the transfer of smoke.

CA - 2000 IBC 407.3.1 Corridor doors. Corridor doors, other than those in a wall required to be rated by Section 302.1.1 or for the enclosure of a vertical opening or an exit, shall not have a required fire protection rating and shall not be required to be equipped with self-closing or automatic-closing devices, but shall provide an effective barrier to limit the transfer of smoke and shall be equipped with postive latching. Roller latches are not permitted. Other doors shall conform to Section 714.2.

Fire Department- 907.12 Duct smoke detectors. Duct smoke detectors shall be connected to the building’s fire alarm control panel when a fire alarm system is provided. Activation of a duct smoke detector shall initiate a visible and audible supervisory signal at a constantly attended location. Duct smoke detectors shall not be used as a substitute for required open area detection. Exceptions: 1. The supervisory signal at a constantly attended location is not required where duct smoke detectors activate the building’s alarm notification appliances. 2. In occupancies not required to be equipped with a fire alarm system, actuation of a smoke detector shall activate a visible and an audible signal in an approved location. 3. Smoke detector trouble conditions shall activate a visible or audible signal in an approved location and shall be identified as air duct detector trouble.

CA - 2000 IPC 403.1 - Minimum number of fixtures. Plumbing fixtures shall be provided for the type of occupancy and in the minimum number shown in Table 403.1. Types of occupancies not shown in Table 403.1 shall be considered individually by the code official. The number of occupants shall be determined by the International Building Code. Occupancy classification shall be determined in accordance with the International Building Code.

Permits for other new construction shall be limited to one-year duration. The building official official is authorized to grant, in writing, one or more extensions of time, for periods not more than 180 days each.

It shall be the duty of the permit holder to provide access to and means for inspection of such work for any inspections that are required by this code.
