CA - ANSI A117.1-1998 404.2.7 - Door Hardware. Handles, pulls, latches, locks, and other operable parts on accessible doors shall have a shape that is easy to grasp with one hand and does not require tight grasping, pinching, or twisting of the wrist to operate. Such hardware shall be 34 inches minimum and 48 inches maximum above the floor or ground. Where sliding doors are in the fully open position, operating hardware shall be exposed and usable from both sides.

Fire Department- Egress doors shall be readily openable from the egress side without the use of a key or special knowledge or effort. Exit doors shall not be locked, chained, barred, latched or otherwise rendered unusable. All locking devises shall be of an approved type. IFC 1003.3.1.8

Fire Department- Per Dave Anneberg, the door separating the liquor department and the remainder of the store is a rool down grill and not a rolling fire door, as indicated on drawing A1.0. The grill door shall be open when the liquour area is open and the the grill frame or door itself shall be posted as such.

Landings shall have a length measured in the direction of travel of not less than 44 inches.

Raised thresholds and floor level changes greater then 0.25 inch at doorways shall be beveled with a slope not greater than one unit vertical in two units horizontal (50-percent slope).

Individual glazed areas, including glass mirrors, in hazardous locations as devined in Section 2406.2 shall pass the test requirements of CPSC 16 CFR 1201, listed in Chapter 35. Glazing shall comply with the CSPC 16 CFR, Part 1201 criteria for Category I or Category II as indicated in Table 2406.1.

Activation of a duct smoke detector shall initiate a visible and audible supervisory signal at a constantly attended location. Duct smoke detectors shall not be used as a substitute for required open area detection. Exceptions: 1. The supervisory signal at a constantly attended location is not required where duct smoke detectors activate the building’s alarm notification appliances. 2. In occupancies not required to be equipped with a fire alarm system, actuation of a smoke detector shall activate a visible and an audible signal in an approved location. 3. Smoke detector trouble conditions shall activate a visible or audible signal in an approved location and shall be identified as air duct detector trouble.

CA - 2000 IMC 304.9 - Guards. Guards shall be provided where appliances, equipment, fans or other components that require service are located within 10 feet (3048 mm) of a roof edge or open side of a walking surface and such edge or open side is located more than 30 inches (762 mm) above the floor, roof or grade below. The guard shall extend not less than 30 inches (762 mm) beyond each end of such appliance, equipment, fan or component and the top of the guard shall be located not less than 42 inches (1067 mm) above the elevated surface adjacent to the guard. The guard shall be constructed so as to prevent the passage of a 21-inch-diameter (533 mm) sphere and shall compl with the loading requirements for guards specified in the International Building Code.

CA - LSCO 7-134 - Every permit issued shall become invalid unless the work on the site authorized by such permit is commenced within 180 days after its issuance, or if the work authorized on the site by such permit is suspended or abandoned for a period of 180 days after the time the work is commenced. Permits for exterior work, i.e., walls, fences, decks, patios, patio covers and similar type work requiring permits, as well as permits for residential room additions and remodels shall be limited to 180 days duration. Permits for other new construction shall be limited to one-year duration. The building official official is authorized to grant, in writing, one or more extensions of time, for periods not more than 180 days each.

CA - LSCO 7-162 - It shall be the duty of the holder of the permit or their duly authorized agent to notify the building official when work is ready for inspection. It shall be the duty of the permit holder to provide access to and means for inspection of such work for any inspections that are required by this code. Inspection requests shall be made in advance and in accordance with the most current written policies of the Codes Administration Department.
