Fire Department: Medical gas systems including, but not limited to, distribution piping, supply manifolds, connections, pressure regulators, and relief devices and valves, shall comply with NFPA 99 and the general provisions of this chapter. Documentation shall be provided of the pressure test of at least 150 psi for a minimum of 24 hours on installers letterhead.

WU - A Reduce Pressure Zone (RPZ) principal backflow prevention device will be placed inside the tenant space on the domestic water service line prior to any point of use.

WU - All backflow prevention assemblies must be tested and reports filed with the Lee's Summit Water Utilities Backflow Division (816- 969-7636) within 30 days from the date installed.

CA - A License Tax application completed by the contractor must be submitted to the City of Lee's Summit, Codes Administration Department, and any applicable License Tax paid prior to issuing a building permit.

CA - The occupancy and or final inspection shall be scheduled with the Codes Administration Department and requires a minimum of two (2) working days notice. Codes Administration will contact the appropriate city departments and will notify the applicant of the date and time the inspection will be performed.

CA - The holder of this permit agrees and understands that only persons authorized per LSCO 7-130 are permitted to perform electrical, plumbing or mechanical work authorized by this permit.

CA - All plans shall be designed to the requirements of the 2000 International Building Code, 2000 International Mechanical Code, 2000 International Plumbing Code, 2000 International Fuel Gas Code, 2000 International Fire Code, 1999 National Electric Code and the ANSI A117.1-1998 as amended and adopted by the City of Lee's Summit.

Fire Department; IFC 1003.3.1.8 Egress doors shall be readily openable from the egress side without the use of akey or special knowledge or effort. Exit doors shall not be locked, chained, barred, latched or otherwise rendered unusable. All locking devises shall be of an approved type. IFC 1003.3.1.8

Fire Department; Required means of egress components shall be maintained during construction and demolition.

Fire Department; Medical gases shall be stored in areas dedicated to the storage of such gases without other storage or uses. Where containers of medical gases in quantities greater than the permit amount are located inside buildings, they shall be in a 1-hour exterior room, a 1-hour interior room or a gas cabinet in accordance with Section 3006.2.1, 3006.2.2 or 3006.2.3.

Fire Department; When an exterior wall cannot be provided for the room, automatic sprinklers shall be installed within the room. The room shall be exhausted through a duct to the exterior. Supply and exhaust ducts shall be enclosed in a 1-hour-rated shaft enclosure from the room to the exterior. Approved mechanical ventilation shall comply with the International Mechanical Code and be provided at a minimum rate of 1 cubic foot per minute per square foot [0.00508 m 3 /(s @ m 2 )] of the area of the room. IFC 3006.2.2

Fire Department; Combustible waste material creating a fire hazard shall not be allowed to accumulate in buildings or structures or upon premises. Combustible debris, waste materials and trash shall not be burned on site.

Fire Department; Dumpsters and containers with an individual capacity of 1.5 cubic yards (40.5 cubic feet) or more shall not be stored in buildings or placed within 5 feet of combustible walls, openings or combustible roof eave lines.

Fire Department; New and existing buildings shall have approved address numbers, building numbers, placed in a position to be plainly legible and visible from the street or road fronting the property. These numbers shall contrast with their background.

Fire Department; Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be a substitute for permanent wiring. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors, or under doors or floor cove-ings, nor shall such cords be subject to environmental damage or physical impact.

Fire Department; The required fire-resistance rating of fire-resistance-rated construction (including walls, fire stops, shaft enclosures, partitions and floors) shall be maintained. Such elements shall be properly repaired, restored or replaced when damaged, altered, breached or penetrated. Openings made therein for the passage of pipes, electrical conduit, wires, ducts, air transfer openings, and holes made for any reason shall be protected with approved methods capable of resisting the passage of smoke and fire. Openings through fire-resistance rated assemblies shall be protected by self-closing or automatic- closing doors of approved construction meeting the fire protection requirements for the assembly.

Fire Department. Construction documents for fire protection systems shall be submitted for review and approval prior to system installation. The plans and specifications shall bear a State of Missouri licensed engineers seal. This includes fire sprinkler systems, grease hood and duct suppression systems as well as other fire suppression system.

Fire Department; All valves controlling the water supply for automatic sprinkler systems and water-flow switches on all sprinkler systems shall be electrically supervised when the number of sprinkler heads are 20 (twenty) or greater.

Fire Department; Portable fire extinguishers shall be installed in occupancies and locations as set forth in the IFC Sec. 906 and as required by the Code Offical. Fire extinguishers shall be selected, installed and maintained in accordance with this section and NFPA 10.

CA - 2000 IPC 403.6 - Customers, patrons and visitors shall be provided with public toilet facilities in structures and tenant spaces intended for public utilization. Public toilet facilities shall be located not more than one story above or below the space required to be provided with public toilet facilites and the path of travel to such facilities shall not exceed a distance of 500 feet.

CA - LSCO 7-134 - Every permit issued shall become invalid unless the work on the site authorized by such permit is commenced within 180 days after its issuance, or if the work authorized on the site by such permit is suspended or abandoned for a period of 180 days after the time the work is commenced. Permits for exterior work, i.e., walls, fences, decks, patios, patio covers and similar type work requiring permits, as well as permits for residential room additions and remodels shall be limited to 180 days duration. Permits for other new construction shall be limited to one-year duration. The building official official is authorized to grant, in writing, one or more extensions of time, for periods not more than 180 days each.

CA - LSCO 7-162 - It shall be the duty of the holder of the permit or their duly authorized agent to notify the building official when work is ready for inspection. It shall be the duty of the permit holder to provide access to and means for inspection of such work for any inspections that are required by this code. Inspection requests shall be made in advance and in accordance with the most current written policies of the Codes Administration Department.

Correction

CA - LSCO7-168 - The building official is authorized to issue a temporary certificate of occupancy before the completion of the entire work covered by the permit, provided that such portion or portions shall be occupied safely. The building official shall set a time period during which the temporary certificate of occupancy is valid.

P & D - Sign permits must be obtained for all signs prior to installation. All signs shall comply with the sign requirements outlined in the UDO, Article 13.
