P & D - The plan submitted January 22, 2001 proposes T-1-11 panels on the exterior of the restaurant. T-1-11 is not on the approved materials list or the conditional materials list. Under Ord. 715, Sec. 260. B.a.3. plywood paneling is prohibited. In addition, exterior wall materials which are not otherwise listed above as "approved" or "conditional" are expressly prohibited.

P & D - Since there is already an existing detached sign on the site, the new "billboard style" roof sign proposed on the front facade is not permissable. The ordinance specifically states, "In lieu of one detached sign, one (1) unilluminated, semi-illuminated or indirectly illuminated roof sign shall be permitted." See Ord. 715, Sec. 350. C. 5.d.

Fire Department- Portable fire extiguishers shall be installed in occupancies and locations as set forth in the Uniform Fire Code Standards and as required by the Chief. Extinguishers shall be mounted in a conspicuous place with travel distance between any point in the building and extinguisher not to exceed 75 feet. Extinguishers shall be a minimum of 2A-10BC (5 lb.). (UFC Section 10.505.(a))

Fire Department- Approved fire suppression systems shall be provided for the protection of commercial food heat-processing equipment that produces grease laden vapors. The system installed to protect ventilating hoods and ducts and cooking appliances shall be installed to include cooking surfaces, deep fat fryers, griddles, upright broilers, charbroilers, range tops and grills. Protection shall also be provided for the enclosed plenum space within the hood above filters and exhaust ducts serving the hood. UFC 10.513

Extension cords and multi-plug extension cords shall not be affixed to structures; extened through walls, ceilings, floors, under doors or floor coverings; or be subject to environmental or physical damage. Codes Administration- No cold storageroom, cooling counter, compartment, receptacle, apurtenance, or device which is used, designed, or intended to be used for the storage or holding of food or drink and no dishwashing or culinary sink in any food preparation room which is used for soaking, washing, or preparing ready to serve food shall have any drain in connection therewith directly connected to any soil, waste, or vent pipe. Such equipment of fixtures shall be drained by means of indirect wast pipes, as defined in Chapter 1 of this Code, and all wastes drained by them shall discharge through an airgap into an open floor sink or other approved type receptor which is properly connected to the drainage system.
