Codes Administration - It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in any business or manufacturing within the City without first having obtained a license therefor, paying the license fee, and registering the business or manufacturer with the Director of Finance or the Director's representative. (Lee's Summit Code of Ordinances, Section 28-24.) It is the general contractors responsiblity to make sure that all the trades on their project are licensed with the City of Lee's Summit.

Codes Administration- It shall be the duty of the person doing the work authorized by a permit to notifiy the Building Inspections Division that such work is ready for inspection. (UBC Section 305.(c))

Codes Administration- Work shall not be done beyond the point indicated in each successive inspection without first obtaining the approval of the Building Official. The Building Official, upon notification, shall make the requested inspections and shall either indicate that portion of the construction is satisfactory as completed, or shall notify the permit holder or an agent of the permit holder wherein the same fails to comply with this code. Codes Administration- Regardless of the occupant load, there shall be a floor or landing on each side of a door. When access for persons with disabilities is required by Chapter 31, the floor or landing shall not be more than 1/2 inch lower than the threshold of the doorway. When such access is not required, such dimension shall not exceed 1 inch. Landings shall be level except for exterior landings, which may have a slope not to exceed 1/4 inch per foot.
